This page explains how and when you are charged for an order from Space Saving Bed. Completing a purchase means you agree to the terms below.
When your card is charged
Space Saving Bed orders each item from the manufacturer after the order is placed. Because of that, billing happens in two steps rather than one.
At checkout - a hold, not a charge. Your payment method is preauthorized for the order total. The funds are held by your bank but not yet taken. An order confirmation email is sent immediately. That email confirms we received the order.
After stock confirmation — the charge. We begin processing the order for shipping within a few business hours. The full amount is then charged and the order begins shipping preparations.
You are ultimately charged once, for the full amount. We do not take deposits, split payments across shipments, or bill partial amounts as items ship.
If an item is unavailable
If it turns out that the item is backordered or discontinued, we contact you by email to explain the situation and go over the options.
At that time, we can void the preauthorization and cancel the order as well. Because the amount is preauthorized initially instead of captured from your bank right away, voiding the preauthorization results in the funds being available in your account sooner than a traditional refund.
What appears on your statement
Charges from this store appear on card statements as SP Space Saving Bed, alongside a 4 digit number that we may sometimes ask you for if our system flags any suspicious activity. This is just a standard security protocol and we will rarely ask you for this 4 digit code.
Furniture purchases are large and infrequent, and an unfamiliar descriptor on a statement weeks after checkout is a common reason people contact their bank. If a charge from us looks unfamiliar, call us before disputing it — it is almost always faster to identify.

Your payment method must be valid and fully authorized at checkout for the order to be processed.
What your total includes
All prices are in US dollars.
Product price. Set in accordance with our dealer agreements with each manufacturer. Prices are subject to change without notice. The price shown when your checkout completes is the price charged.
Shipping - Standard curbside freight is included at no cost on every order.
Sales tax. Collected on orders shipping to Texas, and particularly for Night and Day orders, we may collect sales tax in California and Massachusetts as per nexus laws. Orders shipping elsewhere are not charged sales tax.
Price match refunds
Where a price match request is approved after an order has been placed, the difference is refunded to the original payment method. See our Price Match Policy for eligibility and timing.
One-time charges only
Every purchase from Space Saving Bed is a single transaction. We do not operate subscriptions, memberships, recurring billing, or automatic reordering of any kind. No card on file is ever charged again after an order is complete.
Card security
Transactions are processed through encrypted, PCI-compliant systems. Complete card details are never stored on our servers — all payment data is handled by our third-party payment processor.

Billing errors caught before an order ships are corrected immediately at no cost. Once an order has shipped, correcting it may involve return freight and a restocking fee — see our Return & Refund policy.
Before disputing a charge
If you do not recognize a charge, or something about your order is wrong, contact us first.
A dispute filed with your bank freezes the funds while it is open, which removes our ability to refund you, send a replacement, or file a freight claim until it resolves — a process that typically takes considerably longer than a phone call. Nearly every billing question is faster to answer directly.
